Lilypie First Birthday tickers

So Impatient

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

So, apparently some women can feel kicking as early as 16 weeks and most can feel it by 18 weeks.  I am 17 and a half weeks ... and NOTHING!  I am dying here!  I spend most of my time with my hand pressed on my belly, hoping and waiting.

I don't have too much more to say, but that has been my main focus lately, just dying for a little movement!  Come on, baby!

No worries. I don't think I felt kicking until right around 23 wks. I actually remember going in for my 19 wk ultrasound, and them asking me if I felt her move as she was jumping all around on the ultrasound. Of course, I laid there and focused really hard to try and feel it but.....I had nothin. You will get there eventually, and then once the baby sticks a foot into your ribcage you will be wondering why you ever wished for kicking in the first place! Lol! It is fabulous the first time you feel it though! :)

Try music. The first time I felt you kick was during Midnight Mass with all the joyous music. You were dancing away to the beat!

one of the DAAC board members is prego and she's pretty close to you, I think she said she's in her 19th week.
we were talking about prego stuff today and she asked if you had felt anything yet and I said no and she seemed relieved. she told me she hasn't felt anything either.
you're not alone!
just shake your uterus around every once in a while and see what happens.

Thanks, V.

I tried poking my belly last night to get a reaction and Jeremy freaked out. I assured him that there was plenty of padding to protect the baby when he said I was going to "bash our baby's skull."
